Manava Resort Moorea : a review

This was our first time staying at the Manava Resort in Moorea but our second time visiting Moorea! We decided to stay at the Manava for a portion of our trip. I personally like to change up my atmosphere and stay at different locations each with their own unique vibe.

The Room:

I booked us the bungalow on the beach. I knew we would be staying at the overwater bungalow and a room with the plunge pool at the Hilton so I wanted a different feel. Our room was nestled on the edge of the beach and we had amazing views of the sunrise with the over water bungalows off to the side.

The bathroom was spacious, the bed was super comfortable an we had plenty of space to organize our belongings. The rooms also came with a fridge which was great to stock our water, soda and juice we purchased at the Mantutea Tahiti Rotui Juice Factory! We had a special surprise of flowers in a heart on our room which was the perfect way to start our vacation.

The Resort:

I loved the rustic, authentic vibe of the resort. It embraced French Polynesian design and culture. When you arrive you are greeted with smiles and fresh leis that smell amazing. We found so many gorgeous spots for photos around the resort.

The Restaurants:

We didn’t eat breakfast at the resort since my favorite place; Carameline as across the street. But we did enjoy dinner at Mahana’i. I was obsessed with Possion Cru, a common Polynesian dish and the three different ahi tuna starter. The Miti bar was also amazing. They have happy hour specials daily from 5 pm to 7 pm and fantastic cocktails. I always went with a margarita or daiquiri.

The Pool:

My fav part of Manava! The infinity pool over look the ocean and the overwater bungalows. The pool was zero depth entry so you had a great spot to catch some French Polynesian sunshine. It was also the perfect place to sip on cocktails. My go to was the mango or passion fruit margarita! There was a great shade spot underneath a tree which made for the perfect spot to hang.

The Staff:

Everyone was beyond accommodating and so helpful. Check in and check out was so smooth. Everyone was so attentive. You felt like royalty.

The Activities:

We had so many choices for activities. We used the complimentary kayaks for explore the area but you can also use the paddle boards snorkels and so much more.

The Polynesian dance show is hosted 2 nights week so check the schedule. We booked dinner and had front row seats to the show. This was the second time enjoying it. Our first visit to Moorea, we were able to book a high top for cocktails even though we weren’t staying at the resort. It is a different feel inside vs outside. Sadly the second time was inside due to the rain so we missed out on the fire dancing but do not worry, you can come back for another show or check out the show at the Hilton. The highlight of the show was Ryan being called up to dance. Watch his moves!!! Made the trip dreams come true!!!

Final Thoughts:

If you do not want to switch resorts while in Moorea, this wouldn’t be my first choice but I will be coming back as I did enjoy the vibe and the location to certain things. Thank you Manava for being a part of our magical vacation.
