Hilton Moorea Resort and Spa: a review

Moorea has a special place in our hearts. It was the last place we visited in 2020 before the world shut down and we just celebrated for Ryans 40th in 2023. Both times we stayed at the Hilton Moorea Resort and it has been my fav spot so far.

The Property:

Upon arrival you are given a welcome cocktail and an overview of the property and all the amenities. The staff is beyond welcoming. From the reception area you can see the whole property; pool, beach bungalows and garden bungalows. Be sure to sign up for Hilton Honors Membership to earn status or for faster status boost, get their credit card.

The Rooms:

First pro tip to save some money is we split up our time between an over water bungalow and a private plunge pool. The Hilton has the best over water bungalows because they are built over an eco friendly coral reef. The water is so crystal clear you can see so many fish. The beds are so comfy and the rooms come stocked with complimentary water and soda that is refreshed daily.

The overwater bungalows have free standing bathtubs with an open concept bathroom. The patios are my fav. You have an upper deck to hang out and enjoy the view and a small platform by the water to lay out or watch the fishies. There is also a shower to rinse off after exploring the ocean. Each room has a floor window to watch fish as well. The have more upgraded rooms with a panoramic view or you can request sunrise or sunset. Either way the room is a dream. A draw back to the bungalows is the bar is far away so you either need to order room service for drinks or walk each time you need a new cocktail. The other draw back is you might not get full sun to get your glow on.

The plunge pool has its own amazing perks. I love the fact I can sit in my birthday suit and sip champagne in private. I also bring a pool floatie to enjoy. You do get more sun on your private patio which helps the Tahitian glow! The private plunge pool makes for a super romantic getaway!

The Pool and Beach:

The resort has a fabulous pool with an amazing bar. The drinks are the best and it’s very refreshing to hang out by the pool. The pool doesn’t get very deep so it’s perfect to quick cool off. If you arrive early to the resort, pack your swimsuit in your backpack so you can catch some rays while you wait for your room. There are many loungers on the beach and it’s a great spot to snorkel from if you don’t stay in an overwater bungalow. It doesn’t get deep either so you can walk out and look at the coral and fish as well.

The Restaurants:

Arii Vahine is here we ate breakfast every morning. As a Diamond member we received complimentary cold breakfast and paid the additional for a warm breakfast. The open air concept made for stunning breakfast views as you over look the beach and over water bungalows. I always tried to get a table for two outside! This is also where you could have dinner each night. We ate at the buffet one night for the Polynesian show, which was so fun but the cost of the dinner was not worth it. I suggest checking out my blog on Moorea’s Foodie Scene for other spots to eat on the island.

The Toatea Creperie is so fun. It’s only open at night to enjoy scrumptious crepes; savory or sweet! The best part is watching the sharks and stingrays swim below. My fav drink was bubbles with Kiwi!

Rotui bar and grill has all the pool bites you need. They also have room service. My favorite thing to order is the poisson cru, which is like ceviche but with coconut milk. It made for a great snack to feed the sharks at night. Check out the video HERE.

I cant speak much about the spa. Oddly enough I am not spa girl. The times I have done it, it has been cray expensive and they are never as amazing as my team at home. Plus I am on vacation to explore and soak up the sun.
