Where to EAT in Napa!

Napa is usually all about where to taste and drink all of the wine but it is also about the food. Napa and its surrounding areas are known for its food and of course Thomas Keller, owner of French Laundry! Although I have never been able to score a coveted reservation there I have found some amazing places you can not miss! Below are some of my favorite spots to grab a quick bite between tastings, enjoy a cocktail if you are sick of wine or do sit down after a long day of tasting to enjoy some of the best flavors!

PRESS

I loved everything we ordered here. The ambiance outside was beautiful and a perfect ending to wine tasting in St. Helena. We enjoyed crispy sweet and sour pig ears, odd I know but so good, halibut, oysters with whipped horseradish, beef tartare and great cocktails.

SODA CANYON STORE

Omg if you want the best hangover breakfast burrito or just change up your lunch and have the best bean burrito ever, stop here while you are exploring the Silverado Trail. They have bomb deviled eggs and also have boxed lunches, great to grab between tasting reservations. We found this hidden gem from our driver Rod at Napa Driver Tours! He’s the best!

SOLBAR

Located in the Auberge Resort Solage in Calistoga. The ambiance outside pool side with lights in the trees creates a very romantic setting. They always change up their menu but my most recent favs were their caviar and chips, warm parker rolls, black truffle tagliatelle and their camembert “cheesecake”.

TRUSS

Newly opened at the Four Seasons Calistoga, your palate does not want to miss this. The caviar service was the best I have ever had! The service was upscale and the drinks were impeccable. Although I can’t afford to stay here, I will splurge on dinner every time I am in town. Oh and little tip, order the poached pear for dessert and take a small scoop of the ice cream and add it to the espresso martini!

WIT and WISDOM

If you are craving a seafood tower or the best whiskey sour with egg white, make your reservation here ASAP! This was our favorite place in Sonoma. I recommend adding the Parker House Rolls, Pork Belly, Bone In Ribeye and the Sonoma Sundae for the table! Bon Appetit!

BRUSCHETTERIA TRUCK

Located next to the Clif Family Winery in St. Helena, this cute little food truck offers some amazing bruschetteria and other yummy bites! This is the perfect spot for a quick bite!

SAMS GENERAL STORE

The perfect spot to grab coffee and breakfast before a day of wine exploring in Calistoga. I was obsessed with their avocado toast!

GOTTS ROADSIDE

You can never go to Napa and not eat a Gotts burger! My go to is the cheeseburger and sweet potato fries! It is always busy so I recommend ordering ahead. Even better tip, our driver picks it up for us before he gets us at our current experience. Also get the Frose when its available! They have locations all over so we have even stopped on our way out of San Fran to head up to Napa!

TORC

Our first experience at the gem located in Napa proper was with a group of six so they suggested the Chef’s tasting. OMG yum! They are known for their $39 grilled cheese with black truffle! Other highlights include their deviled eggs, truffle pasta and chimichurri steak.

BOON FLY CAFE

We always stop here for breakfast on our way out of town. They have fabulous bloody marys and fun flavors for mimosas to help with your wine hangover along with the burger! Chef’s Kiss! Must have: breakfast pizza and the donut holes! And FYI the breakfast burrito is the size of your head!

GOOSE AND GANDER

This well known spot in St. Helena is great for a quick bite between wine tastings or do end your day of taste bud heaven. I always order the mushroom soup but other favorites are their charcuterie board, bone marrow and fried olives!!
